Hello!
Raised in the Philadelphia area and educated in New York City, Mary Kate brings wit and a commitment to authenticity to all of her roles. She is a versatile talent who has performed in a range of genres from emotionally-fraught thrillers to light-hearted comedies, sometimes even taking on multiple roles in a single story, such as playing total opposites like Veronica and Ron in the comedy series ‘Forever A Clone’ (Matte Black Originals).
In love with film since she saw the Behind the Scenes of Animating ‘Sleeping Beauty’, Mary Kate graduated with honors from Fordham University with a degree in Visual Arts: Film & Video Production, and a double minor in Film Studies & Comparative Literature.
Trained at UCB, The Barrow Group, and Margie Haber Studio, she brings a knack for improv and comedic timing as well as a compassion for every character to make them truly come alive onscreen, flaws and all.
One of Mary Kate’s favorite parts of filmmaking is how you learn something new through every story, every character, and every team. She is grateful to have gotten a masterclass in acting from her experience playing one of her most complex characters yet, Sarah, while playing opposite film greats such as Lou Gossett Jr. and Lance Henriksen in Awaken the Reaper! Mary Kate focuses on diving deep into the layers of a character so she can do each one justice by showing their raw, unfiltered truth, so getting to push that edge with Lance and Lou’s skill to guide her has been one of the most exciting highlights of her career to date.
Mary Kate seeks to amplify underrepresented voices, and has a history of exploring women’s issues and experiences in her work. She is drawn towards psychology, relationship dynamics (especially how they have evolved with social media, gen z, and hook-up culture), and family dynamics. Her work also often includes notes of humor because she just cannot help herself.
Now based in Los Angeles, lately Mary Kate has been exploring zany new characters in a few to-be-announced sci-fi indie films, as well as producing her debut film: Muse.
When she is not on set, you can find her lost in a book, lost on a hiking trail (don’t worry, she’ll be fine), or lost in the grocery store trying to find all the perfect ingredients for her cooking and baking exploits.
